Marvelous bright and gem blue Lazulite crystals from a recent find in Rapid Creek - the famous phosphate deposits of Yukon. Actually this specimen comes from a brand new locality in Rapid Creek area – Mt Seafoam. The Lazulite is a rare magnesium aluminum phosphate and some of the finest come from this locality. The Lazulite crystals are sharp, highly lustrous, very well formed, monoclinic, deep indigo blue color measuring up to 5mm. The most amazing aspect is the gemminess of the crystals – they are transparent with saturated blue-green colors. Some brown Siderite, transparent colorless Quartz crystals and white Albite add a nice contrast. In good condition – some small nicks and contacts.
Splendid gem Lazulite!
