Superb specimen of Cuprite crystals partially pseudomorphed by Copper. Displays sharp Cuprite octahedrons intergrowing with dendritic Copper. One dominant 24mm crystal forms an excellent focal point. Some areas of the Cuprite have been replaced and pseudomorphed by Copper, keeping the octahedral shape. The Cuprite has matt luster and good light reflection. On strong light some areas are wine-red and slightly gemmy. The Copper crystals have good red-brown color and grow consecutively in an attractive dendritic structure. Complete all over 360 degree specimen. For references see the issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 45, # 4, July-August 2014. In very good condition – some natural contact areas.
Excellent!
