Knappenwand is a world famous mineral locality for Epidote-Byssolite and this is a fine specimen. Very delicate clusters of dense, fibrous hair like Byssolite needles cover the half of the base. The Byssolite has rich green color and it is very sparkling. White Albite crystals cover the other half of the matrix. They are sharply crystallized. The Epidotes have olive-green color. They are lustrous and strongly light reflective. For references The Mineralogical Record, vol. 17, pp 167-181. In excellent condition - some outside edge contacts.

Knappenwand specimens are not common, always highly prized and this is a choice combo!
