Graceful top quality specimen from the legendary and one of the most classic localities for Wulfenite - Mezica, Slovenia. Displaying two types of habit. Some are doubly terminated pyramidal crystals - a habit that is not common for that mineral. Most of the crystals are thick blocky plates. All of them are very strange because of the biscuit like growth – two parallel plates are connected with smaller crystal between with some empty space – absolutely amazing. All crystals are sharp, well formed and isolated with deep, intense caramel-orange color. Displays from many sides. Complete all over with small contacts. For references The Mineralogical Record, March-April 1991: Famous Mineral Localities: The Mezica Mine, Slovenia, Yugoslavia. In very good condition – some small nicks and contacts.
Sumptuous!
