Rare crystallized Azurite specimen from Poteryaevskoe Mine, Rubtsovskoe Cu-Zn-Pb deposit, Russia. This is very unusual specimen for this already closed mine which usually produces floater Azurite balls. Featuring perfect tabular crystals with flat tips. The most amazing aspect is the Azurite quality - brilliant and extremely lustrous, superb quality for that mineral. The color varies from very dark blue-black to areas of intense electric royal-blue. It has very elegant posture and sharp Azurite blades. One small Cerussite crystal adds a nice accent. For references see the issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 45, # 4, July-August 2014. In excellent condition – some base contacts. On acrylic base.
Overwhelming Azurite!
