Superb specimen of Cuprite crystals almost completely pseudomorphed by Copper. Displays sharp Cuprite octahedrons intergrown together. Later the Cuprite has been replaced and pseudomorphed by Copper, keeping the octahedral shape. Some small areas are still Cuprite. The unusual aspect of this pseudomorph is that the Copper forms small clusters with copper-brown color. Complete all over. For references see the issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 45, # 4, July-August 2014. In very good condition – some base contacts. On acrylic base.
Marvelous Copper pseudomorph!
