Astounding specimen of pinkish Garnet var. Grossular with green phantoms. Grossular crystals are super gem, with deep emerald-green cores, which are result of Chromium, surrounded by transparent, pinkish areas. The crystals to 5mm completely cover the base and they have rhombic dodecahedral sharp crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible contrast. Some green Diopside and white Prehnite crystals add a nice accent. This is of truly superior quality. Green cored Garnets are among the most unusual and rare Jeffrey mine Garnets. This was mined decades ago - the mine is closed now. The overall display of the specimen is exceptional due to the striking green color combined with brilliance and freshness. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition – some outside edges contacts and negligible nicks.
World grade phantom Garnets – gorgeous top specimen!
