Knappenwand is a world famous mineral locality for fine Epidote-Byssolite and this is a beautiful specimen. Very dense cluster of fibrous hair like Byssolite needles are impaled on Epidote crystals. Byssolite has green color and it is very sparkling. Epidotes have very dark olive-green color. They are lustrous and strongly light reflective. Ref. The Mineralogical Record, vol. 17, pp 167-181.
