Knappenwand is world famous mineral locality for fine Epidote and this is a beautiful specimen. Very dense cluster of fibrous hair like Byssolite needles are impaled on V shaped Epidote crystals. Epidotes have very dark olive-green color. They are lustrous and strongly light reflective. Ref. The Mineralogical Record, vol. 17, pp 167-181. In excellent condition - some very small contacts.
