Absolutely neat hollow Dolomite epimorph after Calcite. Epimorph is a type of pseudomorph where a mineral replaces another mineral and the original mineral dissolves, leaving a hollow cast surrounded by the new mineral. Displays scalenohedral Dolomite with hollow centers formed after the prime generations of Calcite has been dissolved leaving a crust of Dolomite with the shape of the dissolved one. Dolomite has hollow caverns with a complex structure and a tan color. Small white Calcites grows atop. 360 degree piece. In very good condition – some small nicks.
