Killer specimen of extremely rare pink colored Grossular Garnets to 2mm with green cores due to Diopside. The Garnet crystals are very glassy, transparent, gem quality with superb luster and pleasing pink color. They have perfect rhombic dodecahedral crystal habit. The crystals at the lower part have green cores which are due to Diopside growing below. The base is covered by sparkling Diopside needles with yellow-green color. Crystals of unidentified white mineral, probably Prehnite, are seen too. The Grossular has marvelous pink color and combined with the excellent gemminess make it a choice specimen from this closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base.

Exceptional pink beauty!
