The crystals to 9mm have a rich and saturated canary-yellow color to striking orange tips. They have a strong luster and sparkle nicely. The crystals are translucent to transparent and gemmy. They are sharp with chisel terminations. Small transparent crystals of an unidentified mineral grow on some tips. The legrandite is one of the most desirable rare minerals from Ojuela mine.
