Superb octahedral hausmannite crystals decorating garnet var. andradite from the famous Kalahari manganese fields, South Africa. Hausmannite forms sharp, pagoda like structures. The crystals have a black color and a matt, metallic luster. Red-brown andradite crystals with a rhombic dodecahedral habit form the base. The world’s finest hausmannite comes from the Kalahari Manganese Field and this one is a choice specimen. It displays all over 360 degree. In good condition – some small nicks. On acrylic base.

Fantastic!
