Knappenwand is a world famous mineral locality for fine Epidote-Byssolite and this is a beautiful specimen. It displays very dense cluster of fibrous hair like Byssolite needles growing on Epidote crystals covered base. The Byssolite has green color and it is very sparkling. The Epidotes have very dark olive-green color. For references see the 1986 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 17, # 3. The size is till the dense hairs. In superb condition. On acrylic base.

Knappenwand specimens are not common, always highly prized and this is an exquisite piece!
