They are extremely transparent, gem quality with superb luster and rich saturated color. This is the best color that these can get. They are glassy and clear - pure orange water. The crystals have rhombic dodecahedral habit with sharp crystallization. All crystals have nice striations characteristic for Jeffrey mine. With such amazing gemminess, glassy luster and irresistible color it is a truly superb Garnet from this great and closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition – some minor nicks. On acrylic base.
