Killer top specimen of honey-orange colored Grossular Garnet crystals up to 17mm from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The crystals are transparent, gem quality with strong glassy luster. They have rich and saturated honey-orange color - pure orange water. The Grossular has rhombic dodecahedral habit with sharp crystallization and pretty edge modifications. It has nice striations characteristic for Jeffrey mine. With such amazing size, gemminess, glassy luster and irresistible color it is truly outstanding Garnet from this great and closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some minor nicks and outside edge contacts. On acrylic base.
