Fantastic rare Shigaite crystals decorating sparkling Rhodochrosite base from this famous locality - NChwaning I Mine, South Africa. The Shigaite is a very rare aluminum manganese sulfate and the finest specimens for the species come from this locality. It displays strongly sparkling fresh Rhodochrosite crystals with vivid pink color. Above grow translucent up to 2mm Shigaite crystals. They are tabular and hexagonal with brick-red color. The Rhodochrosite crystals are richly sprinkled with micro Shigaite crystals. For references see the 2017 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 48, # 1. In superb condition. On acrylic base.
