Superb lustrous and slightly gemmy crystals of Garnet var. Andradite var. Melanite from Sokolovskoe Iron Mine, Kazakhstan. The Melanites are black with perfect, razor-sharp truncated rhombic dodecahedral crystallization and strong luster. On back light are seen some gemmy areas with dark red color. In very good condition – some small nicks.
