Splendid small specimen of rare Garnet var. Grossular with green phantoms. The Grossular crystals are gem, with green cores, which are result of Chromium, surrounded by transparent, colorless areas. The crystals have good crystallization, strong luster and are up to 1mm. Grass-green elongated Diopside crystals intergrow with the Garnets. Green cored Garnets are among the most unusual and rare Jeffrey mine Garnets. This was mined long time ago - the mine is closed now. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In good condition - some contacts. On acrylic base.

Cute phantom Garnets!
