Knappenwand is world famous mineral locality for Epidote and this is a fine specimen. The Epidote crystals grow in an elongated cluster with free standing blades. They have very dark olive-green color. The crystals are lustrous and strongly light reflective. The Epidotes are very sharp, well terminated and when back lighted are slightly gemmy. Ref. The Mineralogical Record, vol. 17, pp 167-181. In very good condition - some contacts. On acrylic base.

Knappenwand Epidote is not common and always highly prized!
