Fabulous small specimen of very rare orange Garnet var. Grossular with green phantoms. The Grossular crystals are very gem, with green cores, which are result of Chromium, surrounded by transparent, orange areas. The crystals have trapezohedral sharp crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible contrast. The green cored Garnets are among the most unusual and rare Jeffrey mine Garnets. This was mined long time ago - the mine is closed now. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some natural imperfections on the faces and back side contacts. On acrylic base.

Gorgeous phantom Garnets!
