Exceptional top specimen of Chromian Vesuvianite – the rarest and most desirable color. The perfect, crystals are up to 29 mm in length and have very intense dark emerald-green color due to Chromium. This is extremely rare color and usually the crystals are inosculated in the base. The color is the ultimate green that is possible to find from the mine. The quality is outstanding – gem crystals with very lustrous faces that strongly reflect the light which gives superb sparkling appearance. Some crystals are with pointy tips, till other are flat contact terminations. Overall stunning green Vesuvianite from this great, now inactive mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. Some crystals are damaged. On acrylic base.
